Life turns and turns

Well, I was overly optimistic, as it turns out. I thought my divorce would be relatively amicable. I guess it isn't the worst divorce ever, but it has turned into something much more painful than I had expected. If anyone reading this is considering a divorce, please do everything you can to avoid it, particularly if you have children. What seems like it might go well in the beginning gradually spins into something worse and worse.

Anyway, enough of that. I just wanted to make an update.

My thoughts are with you, Chris. I've only heard some inklings, but it's enough to know that it's a hard time for you right now.

I wish there was something I could do.

Last year was a rough one on many fronts, and it sounds like you had even rougher stuff to deal with than a lot of us. I'm with you, even if it just struck me now to check in to the ol' CarpenBlog.

But it's a new year, I've heard. The beginning of a new year is always a time of anticipation and promise of things being different. Those promises don't always come true, but it's the one time of year when everyone really feels like they will. I say embrace that feeling of change as best you can.

And music! No better a time to really delve into music writing than when your emotions are exposed to you. Perhaps RPM Challenge? Or an EP? It may be winter, but lemonade still tastes delicious.
